MILLENNIAL homemaker

As a little girl , I remember telling a guardian “ when I’m a mom , I’m staying home” at such a young age. I knew where I wanted to be, I knew where my heart was. Her response was something around “ throwing my life away “
The more I embrace and honor my role as a homemaker, the more I realize how indoctrinated black people , specifically women are. We’re taught to believe that being at home , nurturing, nourishing and caring for our-self, our tribe and our home wasn’t , isn’t enough
